A distinctive type of Italian  pasta cuts with precise origin from Sicily. Peradventure you haven’t been to this part of the world, which is notable for her splendid mountains with assorted growing wine grapes, then it is high time you tasted the casarecce pasta.  This is mine own way of reasoning my dear….

We all cannot visit the entire universe at the same time so I believe that the quickest and fastest way of visiting any country of choice is to find a way of tasting their own unique food or using anything they are basically known for or imported from such country.

Isn’t it true?  ?  ?  ?

Well, I suppose that’s the shortest means of travelling the entire world within the shortest space of time. So if not true, then prove me otherwise!!!

The casarecce pasta has become part of my all time favourite pastas for a reason, but it is still fun to try out assorted twists of pastas out there to see if you can come up with any preference of choice. Yes, this casarecce fall into my preference list.  Pasta is a staple Italian food and it is a popular name given to assorted pasta dishes out there.

It might also interest you to know that the meaning of this unique-shaped casarecce pasta is {homemade}. Basically, the casarecce pasta is manufactured using grains such as rice flour, semolina flour, corn flour, plain flour, salt, 100% desert durum wheat, water, eggs etc.

It is characterised by S-shape short length with long twists  of rolled tube of pasta rolled up over each other. The casarecce pasta is shaped using  a traditional bronze die. Casarecce pasta is an excellent source of fibre with  good texture and quality taste thus suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. It  is also an excellent source of vitamin B, sodium, amino acids, folic acid, niacin and protein, which depends on the type of flour used for making the pasta. 

The first step for getting this dish ready is to  parboil the casarecca pasta for few minutes, wash off the starchy water and then set the pasta aside.

For this casarecce pasta with vegetables recipe, I decided to adopt my favourite fried rice recipe. The only difference is that I added mushrooms to this dish and the taste was really on point.

I really like the assorted vegetable combo so I decided to give it a go with these casarecce pasta. The combination of fresh vegetables such as green peas, green beans, sweet corn, carrots and mushrooms with the spiciness of flavourful Schwartz all seasoning spices and vegetable oil was a winner in this Italian recipe. Another winning favorite for me!!!

So once the pasta has been parboiled, the next step is to stir-fry all the vegetables you intend to use with spices until soft and crispy.

Once you start stir-frying the vegetables, do cook the casarecce pasta with meat broth, curry, mixed spices, herbs, chicken stock and salt to taste until properly cooked. This is then followed by adding the stir-fried vegetables into the cooked pasta, stir the mixture properly and your casarecce pasta and vegetables are done and ready for consumption.

Pairing the casarecce pasta with assorted vegetables really made a big difference in this dish.  Besides, eating vegetables is very beneficial to our health and provides our body with loads of amazing health benefits.

Studies reveal that consuming food rich in vegetables is very helpful in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, type-2 diabetes and cancer. Moreover, vegetables are part of the much advocated WHO 5-A-DAY, thus one or more cups of vegetables are very important for our body on a daily basis for a healthier us. 

Vegetables are an excellent source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, Magnesium, vitamin B-6, Iron and calcium thus help in flushing out toxins and waste products from our body. Vegetables also help to keep away constipation and bloatedness thus facilitate easy digestion of food.

The high content of water and potassium in vegetables assist our body in flushing out excess sodium from our body as well as help to maintain balanced fluid level in our body system.

The presence of magnesium and potassium in vegetables relaxes our blood vessels thus maintaining a balanced blood pressure level. The dietary fiber in vegetables helps to maintain a stable blood sugar level, which prevents energy dips.
