Ogbono soup is a popular soup in the West African continent of the world.
The seeds are obtained from wild African bush mango seeds and must be finely ground before being used for preparing this soup.

Ingredients:
- 6 tsps. of ground ogbono.
- 2 bunches of spinach or fluted pumpkin leaves.
- 2 tsps. of red palm oil.
- Salt to taste.
- 1 grinded fresh pepper.
- 2 maggi cubes.
- Assorted meat.
- Stockfish & dry fish.
- Ogiri okpei (local spice)
Instructions:
- Wash meat and stockfish, add in the pot, add chopped onions and other seasonings before cooking.
- Add palm oil in a pot and slightly heat up.
- Add the ground ogbono in the oil and dissolve.
- Add the dissolved ogbono in the pot containing meat and cook.
- If the soup is too thick, add more hot water.
- Use hot water to wash the dry fish before adding to the soup.
- Add maggi cubes, ogiri okpei, pepper and salt to taste.
- Add spinach or fluted pumpkin leaves and simmer for 2 mins.
- Bring down from fire and serve with eba, pounded yam or fufu.
