BREAKFAST

breakfast (1)

I have been searching for a better way to structure my question. I came up with; How often do you eat breakfast? or should I say; Do You know that it is very essential to eat breakfast? How often do you skip breakfast? Are you amongst the set of individuals that ensure that breakfast is a must for the day or amongst others that claim that breakfast is not necessary? Could your eating or skipping breakfast just be a habit you learnt from childhood, or a route you choose to follow as an adult due to tight schedules or a plan you believe will help you shed excess weight?

Anyways which ever question you deem suitable, the key note is to address the health benefits of eating breakfast. But is it really true that breakfast can make or break a diet plan? Well, we will find out which routine is most ideal.
Let us start by identifying what breakfast is; Breakfast  literally means breaking the fasting period of the previous night. In other words, it is simply the first meal eaten in the early morning once a person has risen from a night's sleep before embarking on the day's work.
Different people and different cultures have varying breakfast foods and method of preparations but the core fact is that it is meant to contain the right amount of carbohydrate (cereals, grains, flakes, wheat, crumpets, bread, pancakes, muffins), protein (sausages,eggs, meat, fish), 5-A-DAY (fruit & vegetables, smoothies) and hot drinks (coffee, milk, tea).
So whichever routine you follow, it is important to understand that;

Breakfast kicks the ball rolling thus the most vital meal for the rest of the day.

I carried out a random survey of few people to find out their experiences with or without breakfast. I categorised the survey into people who skip breakfast and those that eat breakfast. It appeared that those individuals who skip breakfast, greatly admitted that they experience body imbalance, loss of concentration, dizziness, unnecessary weight gain and light-headedness throughout the day. However, the set of individuals who maintain a regular breakfast intake claimed that they remain energised throughout the day,  more focused for the rest of the day and have good body metabolism which aids in excess weight shedding.

Infact one of the respondents said;

“breakfast is a way of life, I can't survive without breakfast”

The other said;

"Blessing how do you expect me to function well throughout the day without breakfast?"

From the survey, I deduced that breakfast is the main meal of the day. It is very fundamental in keeping the body system in an up-to-date condition, facilitates ideal body weight and maintains body soundness. Breakfast to a larger extent, resurrects the body metabolism in other words, jump starts our body engine for better functionality.
Nutritionists agree that foods eaten for breakfast are rich sources of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, iron, fibre and vitamins. Moreover, they recommend that eating breakfast has many health benefits which includes reduction of obesity, maintenance of good blood pressure, reduction of heart diseases and regulation of blood sugar level.
Breakfast is not limited to a certain demographics or certain people rather,

Breakfast is for everyone!

Once you have eaten your breakfast, you are sure covered even if you do not eat for the rest of the day. It is recommended to create a proper breakfast schedule and stick to the habit at all times.

Whatever breakfast plan you aim to adhere to, do not forget to make it light. Even though eating breakfast is a pre-requisite, it is important to note that certain heavy meals suitable for lunch is not encouraged to be eaten in the morning as those heavy foods tend to slow down  a proper body metabolism thereby reducing the body functionality for the rest of the day.

Always remember... breakfast is the key meal of day!
