Homemade fruit smoothies! I can never have too many recipes on smoothies! I am always trying out new varieties and new presentations. Smoothies are always nutritious, refreshing and packed with the right nutrients essential for the healthy functioning of our body systems. Making them in batches and leaving them in the fridge is also handy for a quick healthy-ish breakfast or dessert. This version is a winner because of the moringa I added in there! Peradventure you don't know, the moringa tree is always referred to as the miracle tree and it has been used for centuries due to its numerous health benefits and medicinal purposes. You can read more about the health benefits of moringa here. If you are a healthy smoothie fan, who isn't? And If you are not allergic to moringa, then this recipe is just for you.
This fruity/moringa powder smoothie is the perfect combination of nutritious, refreshing and amazing ingredients for a wonderful outcome. The caramel flavour truly shines through in this smoothie without being overwhelming, and the gentle taste of the moringa powder pushes up the smoothie to the next level. I love smoothies, especially when freshly made. There is almost nothing better than it! I’ve made tons of smoothies occasionally over the years, and I don't think I will ever grow old or tired of making them. At least not for now! Cos no one can see the future. I also love adding any kind of healthy powdery additives just like the likes of moringa. For me, it's just like adding that icing on the cake! I also love adding some bit of flavours like the caramel flavour I used in this recipe. Artificial flavours add a slight aromatic flavour to whatever smoothie it is you make and this recipe isn't an exception.
I have posted the original recipe below, so feel free to check it out. Since I’ve been making a lot of fruit smoothies recently, I’m always looking out for other ways of using up my leftover fruits. With smoothie-making, there isn't any room for fruit wastages. Never! This smoothie came out so well, and it was pretty easy to put together. Fantastic!
- 1 Pear
- 1 Lime
- 1 Apple
- 1 Banana
- 4 Mandarines
- 473ml Soyamilk
- 2 tsp moringa powder
- 1 tsp caramel flavour
- Wash, peel and cut the fruits into smaller pieces.
- Pour the soya milk into the Vitamix blender, add the fruits, moringa powder and caramel flavour.
- Secure the lid of the blender.
- Select the smoothie program on the Vitamix blender and allow the program to complete
- Serve the apple, banana, pear & mandarine smoothie immediately or serve chilled.
