PAPAYA SMOOTHIE

PAPAYA SMOOTHIE

I love fruit smoothies, always have and ever will I continue to love 'em. So for me, I am always super excited each time I am making fruit smoothies. I've been making my own smoothies for almost as long as I can remember and amazingly I can't remember ever not enjoying each one. I always look forward to buying assorted fruits from the market so I can play around with as many smoothies I like as possible…....Blimey!!!

Yesterday, I had a ripe pawpaw lying on the kitchen counter just beckoning to be used asap.  What do I do with it? Then, I thought of an easiest recipe for papaya and that is simply papaya smoothie. Also known as pawpaw or papaw, papaya is the fruit of Carica papaya plant that belongs to the family of Caricaceae. Papaya is originally from South America before spreading to other parts of the world such as the Caribbean, Asia and Africa.

There is absolutely nothing as refreshing and comforting than relaxing with a glass of freshly made papaya smoothie. Interestingly, this papaya smoothie recipe is quite easy to adopt and you can always tweak the recipe to come up with exactly what you like.

The ripe papaya fruit is normally eaten raw without seeds and skin or blended together with water or ice cubes to form a smoothie. Whichever way you choose to enjoy your own smoothie is perfectly okay and never disappoints. The only point to note is that you ought to make sure that either the water or ice cubes is proportionate to the quantity of carica papaya you are using for your smoothie.

Although some papaya smoothie recipes call for other additives such as honey, maple syrup, sugar, herbs or even spices but I prefer mine to be strictly natural and plain. So I just stick with sweet ripe papayas with few ice cubes and that’s it basically.

Alternatively, you can add water and any other additives of choice such as honey, sugar etc. Adding ice cubes or pouring water into the papaya before blending makes it blendable and drinkable.
