I don't know about you, but each time I think of fruits, the first thing that pops into my brain is a smoothie. I have formed the habit of having some kind of fruits on hand at all times. Since I try to eat healthy most of the time, I always like to have a fruit smoothie in the mornings or just before bedtime. The truth is that I actually made this blue spirulina smoothie last month, but just never had the opportunity to publish it. Luckily, I stood my ground and ensured that today is the day to tackle that problem. And here you go, pear, lemon, pineapple, mandarines, coconut water, hazelnut flavour, blue spirulina powder, richness! But I cannot pinpoint that I am much of a spirulina fan, but that doesn't matter at all. All I can say is that this blue spirulina mixed fruits smoothie was so fulfilling!
Just to warn you ahead of time, this smoothie recipe is specifically dedicated to spirulina lovers! So, If you don't like the taste of spirulina, please I encourage you to pass on this smoothie recipe. This recipe makes a big batch of blue spirulina smoothie but you don't actually require a lot of it at a time, although I won't judge you if you do so. But you probably need to make it ahead of time so that you can easily pull it out of the fridge when you need it. The whole process of making this smoothie is pretty simple. And even if you happen to have some leftovers from this smoothie, it can freeze quite well. I apportioned the smoothie into smaller containers and threw them in the deep freezer. When I need a little smoothie, all I need to do is to pull one out and allow it to defrost before sipping through.
Like I previously stated, if you are comfortable with the taste of spirulina, go ahead and give this recipe a shot, otherwise just ignore it.
